Using carefully crafted music and sound frequencies, this program allows you to simply rest and listen—no active effort required. It is especially helpful for those recovering from chronic stress, trauma, or challenges related to autonomic nervous system imbalance.


How does the Rest and Restore Protocol work?

The protocol gently activates the parasympathetic nervous system—your body’s natural “rest and digest” mode. Specially designed audio frequencies and musical components help quiet the fight-or-flight response, reduce physical tension, and foster a sense of safety. With regular use, this can lead to better sleep, improved digestion, greater emotional resilience, and enhanced overall well-being.


Who can benefit from the Rest and Restore protocol?

The Rest & Restore Protocol is ideal for those experiencing stress, burnout, trauma, chronic anxiety, insomnia, or symptoms of nervous system imbalance. How do I use the Rest and Restore protocol?

Getting started with the protocol is easy:

You can use the RRP at home or during you acupuncture sessions. Some people find a hybrid approach works well for them.

Choose a quiet, comfortable spot to sit or lie down. Use high-quality headphones or speakers for the best experience—headphones are often preferred. Play the audio track recommended by your provider, and simply listen without needing to concentrate or actively participate. Sessions usually last anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes, with many people beginning with shorter durations and gradually extending as they feel comfortable.

How long do I use the Rest and Restore protocol?

How long someone uses the Rest & Restore Protocol depends on their unique needs, goals, and the level of nervous system dysregulation or symptoms they’re experiencing. Here’s a general outline:

Initial Phase: Most people notice subtle improvements in calm, regulation, or self-awareness within the first few sessions—often over several days or weeks.

Short-Term Use: Many clients follow the protocol regularly for 4–8 weeks, several times per week, to build a foundation of nervous system regulation and experience deeper benefits.

Medium-Term Use: For lasting changes—especially for those addressing trauma, chronic stress, or long COVID—using the protocol for 3–6 months is common.

Long-Term or Maintenance Use: Some choose to make RRP a part of their ongoing wellness routine, using it for maintenance and stress resilience over many months or even years, either regularly or as needed.

Your program license is valid for one year, with a monthly fee. After the first year, continued access is available at a reduced rate.


Are there side effects?

Most people experience the protocol as calming and restorative. Occasionally, some may notice emotional release, drowsiness, or mild discomfort, especially if their nervous system is particularly sensitive. If you ever feel overstimulated, anxious, or uneasy, simply pause the session and reach out to your provider for guidance. It’s completely normal to adjust the duration or frequency of your sessions to suit your comfort level.



What kind of support is there if I choose to listen at home?

Your first session can be done either by video or in person. Akilah will guide you through the process and answer any questions you may have. After that, you will have access to email or text Akilah throughout the duration of your program. Akilah will check in with you through these methods periodically as well.


Is there anyone who should not use the RRP?

The Rest & Restore Protocol is considered safe for most individuals, but it isn’t appropriate for everyone. It is not recommended for those with tinnitus. Some users may notice changes in digestion—while these are often positive, they may be unwelcome for individuals with a history of significant gastrointestinal issues. Additionally, if you are dealing with ongoing or severe depression, our acupuncturist requires that you be under the care of a therapist while participating in the RRP.

Since it often takes several weeks for clients to notice and maintain meaningful improvements with the RRP, we recommend a minimum commitment of three months of regular listening.

The ideal frequency of sessions depends on your individual sensitivity and how you respond to the initial sessions—sometimes, less is more for certain nervous systems. Most clients listen between two and five times per week, with two to three sessions per week being the average.
